My personal motivation for becoming a school Governor comes from my sadness to see arts subjects disappear from the curriculum.  I chose specifically to work with Wirksworth Juniors due to the close alignment I have with the schools vision and values “Creative, Curious & Caring, we make every moment count.”  I hope to use my experience to encourage more young people to follow cultural and artistic professions.  I believe arts and culture to be a major part of a healthy and successful community and integral part of personal wellbeing.  I want to show young people that studying arts doesn't limit you to being an actor or painter, but can unlock a plethora of options you never thought possible.
