Dr Julie Fisher

I am relatively new to this lovely area, having lived in Wirksworth and now Bolehill for over four years. My professional background is in teaching and research although I have retired as an academic in water and sanitation development in low-income countries. Although primary school age is the opposite of my work experience, I recognise the importance of establishing a firm foundation and passion for learning from an early age, and of developing each child’s strengths, whatever they might be. I love being a mum and now nana to pre-school and primary school children and am actively engaged in their care. Being a governor appealed to me as a means of contributing to the life of the local community in a specific way. Although I’m new to this role, I’m hoping I can make a useful and meaningful contribution to the life of this amazing school
