The book we are reading and answering VIPERS questions about in our shared reading lessons in the Autumn Term is...

In the Autumn Term, our curriculum theme is 'Caring and Discovery'. The main subject focus of our project is History. Throughout our project, we will explore concepts such as empire, invasion, achievement and community. We will be learning about the Mayan civilization and the Shang Dynasty. Throughout the term, we will also be provided with opportunities to apply our writing skills across the curriculum. 

In maths this half-term, Year 5s will be focusing on decimals and money. Year 6s, will be focusing on place value with numbers up to ten million and calculation. 

Things to remember...

Reading diaries will be checked on a Monday. Read 5 times each week to receive your Dojo points and reading chart stamp.

Maths homework will be sent out each Friday and is to be completed by the following Thursday.

Spelling and handwriting homework will be sent out each Friday and is to be completed by the following Thursday.
