  • Well Dressing 2022

Wed 08 Jun 2022 Jill Warren

It's that time of year again and beautiful well dressings were on display throughout Wirksworth over the May half term holiday and Jubilee weekend.

Wirksworth Junior School's well dressing this year focused on welcoming our Ukrainian friends to Wirksworth, and was designed and created by our Year 6 children, with help from Mrs Bradbury, Mrs Craven, Mrs Boddy and Mrs Flitter. Special thanks must also go to Mr Bradbury for building a new frame for us at very short notice!

    Well done to everyone involved.

  • Robotics Challenge Activity Day

Tue 26 Apr 2022 Shannon Booth

On the first day back after the Easter break, year 3/4 had a Robotics Activity Day.

This involved 2 volunteers and someone who works in robotics introducing the children to different career pathways involving robotics. The children were amazed at how they could actually work with robots in a job when they are older.

We learnt how to code and program a robot to move around a maze. It was great fun but very tricky!
