English - Talk for Writing

We use talk for writing in English to teach writing, using various fiction and non-fiction texts. This process goes through several stages, enabling children to imitate the language they need for a particular topic orally, before reading and analysing it, and then writing their own version. 

English - Reading

We use VIPERS in reading lessons and our current book is Journey by Aaaron Becker

Maths

We use the NCETM for Maths and teach year 3 and 4 separately, so they will be completing different units of work as shown below.

Project - How is there freedom in the arts?

This half term our topic is Art and Music, playing the Djembe drums.

Science

In Science, our topic is Animals and Humans. 

Things to remember...

• Reading diaries will be checked on a Friday. Read 3-5 times each week to receive your Dojo points.
• Maths homework will be sent out each Friday and is to be completed by the following Thursday.
• Spelling homework will be sent out each Friday and is to be completed by the following Thursday.
• PE will be every Monday and Thursday afternoon this half term.
• We are doing Rounders and Basketball in PE lessons this term.
