Please don't park outside the community garden gate to drop off children. It is very dangerous as it obscures vision on the bridge.

Calendar of Events 2017 - 2018

You are warmly invited all the meetings of WJS PTFA.  They are usually held at the Red Lion at 8pm.

Everyone is welcome, and we are always looking for new members to help us!  At the next AGM nominations will be invited for the posts of Chair, Secretary and Treasurer.

At Wirksworth we have a wonderful Parent Teacher and Friends Association supporting the school through a variety of events they organize across the year.

We organize fundraising activities and events such as cake sales, school disco and family bingo night.

What is the money used for?

The money we raise goes towards the “extras” that the school cannot fund from its main budget. Last year we managed to make £2,818.73 profit. We are currently funding the development of the school garden and nurture kitchen but we also provide support for smaller items such as a visit from the ice cream van!

How often are the meetings?

We have three or four meetings a year, generally we make it a social gathering with a drink!

Who is on the PTFA committee?

The three roles are:

Chair  - Amy Haynes

Treasurer – Jo Butt

Secretary – Barbara Southam

We have committee members who attend the meetings to plan the events and agree how to spend the money raised. Also, we are very lucky to have a team of volunteers who are willing to help out at our events. However, we are always on the look out for more!

How can I help?

Come along and say hello. We are a friendly team and it is a great way to meet new people. There is no commitment and you can put in as much or as little as you like. All help is gratefully received.

There are lots of different things you can do to support us if you would prefer not to attend the meetings, such as match funding (some large organisations will match charitable donations raised by their employees), taking part in a sponsored event on behalf of the school, helping at an event, sending in donations, raffle prizes and simply attending our events all support the PTFA.

If you would like to be more involved, help out at events or give us your fundraising ideas, please return the form below or contact us via the school office.

We look forward to seeing you soon.
